Background Information

Garki Microfinance Bank Ltd (GMFB) commenced operations on March 30, 1995 as NCWS community Bank. In December 2007, it was issued license by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to operate as Microfinance Bank under the brand name Garki Microfinance Bank Limited.

Mrs. Christy Yakubu Sani

Mrs. Christy Yakubu Sani is the Director of Finance at the National Council of Women Societies of Nigeria (NCWS). With a degree in Accountancy from the University of Abuja and a diploma in Public Administration, she has been actively involved with NCWS since 1999. A Fellow of the International Organization of Management Professionals, Mrs. Sani is recognized for her contributions to women’s and agricultural development in Nigeria.

A graduate and member of various international professional bodies. Her near 20 years experience spans across different commercial and microfinance banks, businesses and ventures. She joined the bank in 2002 and was integral to its transformation into full-fledged microfinance bank.

Mr. Christopher Abu holds an MBA in Financial Management and is a certified Microfinance Banker. He has served as MD/CEO of EWT Microfinance Bank Ltd and in various senior roles at Pillar Microfinance Bank and Diamond Bank Plc. He is also a consultant in business development and process optimization.
